Seefeldt wins gold at state track meet

Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas Academy senior Anthony Seefeldt was crowned the Division 3 state champion in the shot put at the WIAA Track and Field State Championships at UW-La Crosse on May 31 and June 1.
He earned the title with a throw of 51 feet, 9.25 inches.
Junior Eva Brooks placed second in the high jump, notching a height of 5 feet 5 inches.
Zander Thomson competed but didn’t record a height in the high jump.

Pulaski captures regional title

Veronica Decker scored three goals as Pulaski shut out Watertown 5-0 to win the WIAA regional title June 1.
Sarah Johnson and Ellie Mangold each scored a goal for the Red Raiders, who now post a 14-4 overall record. All five goals came in the second half.
Sydney Hakes was the goalkeeper, and she made seven saves for Pulaski.
Pulaski is scheduled to play at Nicolet on June 6.

Pulaski loses regional title game

Bay Port 4, Pulaski 1
Bay Port defeated Pulaski 4-1 to claim the WIAA regional crown.
Pulaski was seeded No. 6, and Bay Port was the No. 3 seed.
The Red Raiders, who were 11-7 and finished in fifth place in the Fox River Valley Conference, ended the season with a 14-12 overall record.

Bears top Chargers for regional title

Bonduel 1, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 0
For the second day in a row, Bonduel waited until its last at bat to score the only run of the game.
This time, Easton Reinke led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a double. Then, after an intentional walk to Brodie Hartmann, Karson Stoss stepped up to the plate to get the game-winning hit. Stoss smacked a single to right center and scored Reinke from second with the only run of the game, a 1-0 regional title win over Wittenberg-Birnamwood.

Pulaski girls lacrosse season ends

USM 18, Pulaski 1
The Pulaski girls lacrosse team ended its season with an 18-1 loss to No. 1 seed University School of Milwaukee in the WIAA regional final.
The Red Raiders were 0-6 in the Fox River Classic Conference and 1-13 overall in their first year of existence.

Bears, Chargers to face off for regional title

Bonduel 1, Oconto 0
Brodie Hartmann tripled to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Karson Stoss, and that was all Bonduel needed to pull out a win in their WIAA regional opening game.
Noah Weier and Devon Bostwick matched scoreless innings through three innings, and then Bostwick left with an injury. Riley Susa joined in the fun and held the Bears scoreless until the sixth when Bonduel got on the board.

Bonduel golfers win sectional title

Division 3 Wabeno/Laona Sectional
Bonduel’s golfers won the sectional championship and Lena placed second as both teams advanced to the state tournament following their top play at McCauslin Brook Golf Course in Lakewood.
The Bears scored 313, and the Wildcats scored 317. Gillett scored a 409 and finished in 12th place out of 12 teams.
For Bonduel, Colin Margelofsky and Jake Dreyer each scored 77. Colin Fischer had a 79, and Jaxon Bogacz was at 80. Reed Luepke sacred 90.

Pulaski soccer team wins regional game

Pulaski 3, Hortonville 0
In the first round of regional action, Pulaski defeated Hortonville 3-0.
The Red Raiders scored twice in the first half and once more in the second half.
The No. 3 seed Red Raiders will host No. 7 seed Watertown at 1 p.m. June 1.

6 area baseball team advance in playoffs

Shawano 4, Antigo 1
Shawano made it through the first round of regional action with a 4-1 win over Antigo.
Tom Keszo pitched a complete game and earned the victory. He gave up five hits and one run in seven innings. He struck out nine.
Keszo also had two hits at at the plate. Pete Bruette connected on a double.
At 14-8, Shawano will play May 28 at Notre Dame.
Bonduel 12, Iola-Scandinavia 0
Bonduel clinched the CWC-East title with a 12-0 win over Iola-Scandinavia.

Boys lacrosse
The Pulaski boys lacrosse team’s season ended with a Round 1 playoff loss to Notre Dame.
The Red Raiders lost 13-2 to bring their inaugural season to a close.

Girls lacrosse
The Pulaski girls lacrosse team went the entire regular season without a win. That was not the case when the playoffs began.
