Why can I still hear with noise cancelling Sony headphones? ›

The sudden changes in pitch occur too frequently and make it difficult for any noise-cancelling audio device to analyse and process these differences. Therefore, you hear some noises whilst others are cancelled out.

Adjust the headset into a comfortable position. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

Make sure that the Noise Canceling function is turned on

While wearing the headphones, tap the touch sensor until you hear Noise canceling. In the default setting, tap the touch sensor to change the Ambient Sound Control function.

Be sure the earcups are tightly seated against the head. Glasses, earrings and hats may prevent the headphone cushions from forming a tight seal around the ear. Remove any of these items and retest the noise cancelling feature. Be sure the cushions are securely attached to the earcup.
