The top teams in baseball will be well-represented at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game on July 16 at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN).

The team with the best record in MLB, the Philadelphia Phillies, earned three All-Star starters after Wednesday's results were announced, while a number of other top contenders—the Baltimore Orioles (two), New York Yankees (two), Cleveland Guardians (two) and Milwaukee Brewers (two)—were responsible for many of the starting berths.

Below, we'll break down the starters, the snubs and predict who will make the reserves.

In the American League, Aaron Judge was automatically given a starting spot in the outfield after being the AL's top vote-getter after the first phase of voting. He was joined by fellow superstar and outfielder Juan Soto (.303 with 20 homers and a 1.005 OPS).

Baltimore has its young star duo of shortstop Gunnar Henderson (.288 with 26 homers, 13 stolen bases and a .988 OPS) and catcher Adley Rutschman (.294 with 15 homers and a .821 OPS) starting.

Cleveland will field José Ramírez (23 homers, 76 RBI, .889 OPS) at third and Steven Kwan (.368 AVG, .961 OPS) in the outfield.

Outside of the top contenders this season, Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will make his fourth straight All-Star Game appearance, while Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is off to his ninth overall and designated hitter Yordan Alvarez was voted in for the first time.

NL Starters

Here are the National League starters for the 2024 All-Star Game! 🌟 pic.twitter.com/mCeeHEWiLt

In the National League, leading vote-getter Bryce Harper will be joined by Phillies' teammates Alec Bohm at third base (.300 with an NL-best 68 RBI and MLB-best 28 doubles) and shortstop Trea Turner (.332 AVG, .833 OPS).

Unsurprisingly, Shohei Ohtani easily won the designated hitter vote, as he leads the National League in batting average (.316), homers (26), slugging percentage (.635) and OPS (1.034).

The Brewers will have a duo of stars in the game in outfielder Christian Yelich (.323 with a .892 OPS) and catcher William Contreras, while the San Diego Padres will have two outfielder starters in Jurickson Profar and Fernando Tatis Jr.

Ketel Marte rounds out the starting lineup for the National League at second base, giving the defending NL champion Arizona Diamondbacks a lone starter.

Snubs

In the American League, it's hard to argue there were many snubs, given that how good the players selected were. In most years, for instance, Bobby Witt Jr. would have been a no-brainer at shortstop, but Henderson has been brilliant.

In the outfield, both Judge and Soto were more than deserving starters, but there's probably a strong argument to be made that Kyle Tucker (19 homers, .979 OPS) should have gotten the votes over Kwan. Tucker has more homers, RBI, stolen bases and a better OPS than Kwan, while the Cleveland outfielder holds the advantage in batting average and runs.

In the National League, the biggest snub was always going to be the player who lost out in the battle for shortstop between Turner and Mookie Betts (.892 OPS). Both are deserving All-Star starters (though Betts' fractured left hand would have kept him out regardless).

Perhaps Cincinnati Reds' dynamo Elly De La Cruz (15 homers, 39 RBI, 57 runs, 40 stolen bases, .825 OPS) should have garnered more love in the first phase of voting at shortstop. The same could be said for Cleveland's Josh Naylor (20 homers, 61 RBI, .819 OPS) in the AL at first base.

But beyond that, the public did pretty well across the board with its votes.
