Do you know where to vote? (2024)

Hamilton County voters will go to the polls Tuesday in a combined city and school election.

The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Voters must vote in their precinct of residence, according to Hamilton County Auditor Kim Schaa. Your precinct should be printed on your Iowa Voter Registration card.

If you are uncertain of your precinct, and you still have questions regarding where to vote after reading the following information, you should contact the Hamilton County Auditor’s office at 515-832-9510, or by email kschaa@hamiltoncounty.org. The county auditor is also the Hamilton County Commissioner of Elections, so the phone number is the same.

You may also verify the voting location for your home address online at: https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/voterreg/pollingplace/search.aspx.

. If you have pre-registered, you will need to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot.

. If you are not pre-registered — for example, a voter registering to vote on election day, or changing precincts — you will also be asked to provide proof of residence.

If you are unable to provide an approved form of identification — or proof of residence if required:

The voter’s identity/residence may be attested to by another registered voter in the precinct;

The voter may prove identity and residence using Election Day registration documents;

The vote may cast a provisional ballot and provide proof of identity/residence at the county auditor’s office by noon on Thursday, November 9. Election Day registrant attesters must provide an approved form of identification.

All polling places for this election are handicapped accessible, however, any voter who is physically unable to enter the polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle. To do this, contact the Hamilton County Auditor’s Office at 515-832-9510 or kschaa@hamiltoncounty.org.

If you are unsure about where to vote, consult the following information. Again, if this does not answer your voting question, you are advised to contact the Hamilton County Auditor’s Office at 515-832-9510 or kschaa@hamiltoncounty.org.
