Thank you to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte College of Computing for inviting me and 14 other sophom*ores and 15 freshmen to visit the TIAA Campus in Charlotte. I enjoyed talking and learning about the cybersecurity division and upcoming opportunities at the company. Over the weekend, my friends and I dove into the world of hackathons with our first-ever in-person hackathon at Davidson College, which was a 30-minute drive from UNCC. Arriving, we were surrounded by a fantastic crowd and knew we had competition. We delved into the collaborative process of swiftly developing a financial solution aimed at winning the price category of finance. Our team, named "Goldbyte," aimed to assist people financially and educate them through various means. Our focus was on creating a financial chatbot tailored to support minority groups and enhance their financial literacy. We called it GoldStack, allowing people to study, save, and stack. Over the weekend, we had many sleepless nights, but putting in the work led to an amazing win!Beyond the thrill of victory, the day's essence lies in the valuable lessons of teamwork and thriving in high-pressure situations to deliver an outstanding product. Ultimately, we clinched the Best Finance Solution award. Looking ahead, we are eager to explore the potential of transforming this concept into a tangible business venture.I also want to thank my teammates, Diego Lopez, and Ayemehenre Isikhuemhen for working hard! #hackathonexperience #mlh #undergraduate

Yesterday was the last day of the Capital One Black and Hispanic Tech Summit, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have participated. The summit was a great experience, and I learned a lot about new technologies and hardware, from React to Android Studio.During the last two days of the summit, I also participated in a hackathon with my team, and we won first place for the most innovative application to improve banking applications. Our application used a wide variety of new and innovative technologies to make financial information more available to minorities, and I'm so proud of what we accomplished.I want to thank Capital One for hosting the summit and for giving me the chance to participate. I also want to give a special thanks to Obi Maduka-Ugwu for reaching out and letting me know about this opportunity. I also want to thank my amazing team for making this happen.
